The Three Educational Objectives of YGC
In an increasingly globalized world, skills other than English are becoming imperative. Within the All-English interactive classrooms, our goals at YGC are for students to not only enhance their English skills, but to also develop and strengthen their communication competences, understanding and accepting of various cultures and logical thinking skills.
- Communication Skills
- Through support in English communication skills and presentation skills, we train students to converse competently in English. We then aim for students to acquire appropriate communication skills to take on active roles in foreign high schools and universities and be able to express their opinions based on one’s own and other people’s values and thoughts.
- Cultural Understanding
- In foreign countries, students learn in an environment surrounded by their peers with various cultural backgrounds. What is important in a situation like this, is being able to accept these various cultures. By having a deeper understanding in Japan’s own culture, history and society and obtaining knowledge on other countries, students will be able to build their self-confidence with knowledge of their own cultures and respect others’ on a diverse level.
- Logical Thinking Skills
- In attending secondary schools or universities, a high level of logical thinking skill is required. At YGC, we aim to develop this skill by allowing students to be an inquirer and a thinker, then being able to express thoughts through discussions and debates within an interactive environment. Without being controlled by stereotypes and by taking in other students’ opinions, students will be able to obtain new ways of perceiving and expanding their point of views.
